Amazon has announced it has deployed over 1 million robots across its fulfillment and delivery network, marking a historic milestone in warehouse automation.
The company's internal goal is to automate 75% of its operations. The robotic fleet includes systems like Sequoia, which can identify and store inventory up to 75% faster than previous systems, and Digit, a bipedal robot designed to work alongside human employees.
"Our robots are designed to work with our employees, not replace them," said Amazon's VP of Robotics. "They handle repetitive tasks, allowing our team members to focus on more complex and rewarding work."
The expansion represents Amazon's largest investment in automation technology to date and sets new standards for the logistics industry.
