Royal Mail has announced a breakthrough in logistics efficiency, reducing HGV trailer unloading time by 97% through new automated technology.
The system uses advanced conveyor and robotic technology to automatically unload parcels from trailers, reducing what previously took hours to just minutes.
"This is a game-changer for our operations," said Royal Mail's Director of Operations. "We can now process more parcels faster, improving service levels for our customers."
The technology is being rolled out across Royal Mail's major distribution hubs, with full implementation expected by mid-2026.
