FedEx has opened a new automated sorting facility at its Memphis SuperHub, capable of processing up to 400,000 packages per hour.
The facility features advanced AI-powered sorting systems, automated guided vehicles, and robotic arms that can handle packages of varying sizes and weights.
"This represents the future of package sorting," said FedEx's COO. "The combination of AI and automation allows us to process more packages with greater accuracy than ever before."
The investment is part of FedEx's broader $2 billion modernization program across its U.S. network.
